I love a bright pencil skirt. They can be dressed up or down and are universally flattering for any figure or budget. This red Midi skirt from Vince Camuto is everything – it’s elasticized, has shape, and comes in regular, petite, and plus sizes. A pencil skirt is a good starting point for anyone who wants to add dressier outfits into their wardrobe. They can be effortlessly styled and are so comfortable you could sleep in them. I love pairing black and white with the red; it is a clean combination that is great for any age. When I saw this lace and stripe shirt at Chicos’s it immediately stood out (and awesome side note – Chico’s goes up to a size 4, which is around a 22W or 24W. Their sizes are weird but can fit a wide range of body shapes.) I love pairing this shirt with a simple black blazer that doesn’t have buttons – the open look of the blazer won’t cover up too much of the great detail on the shirt. Pairing the black and white bag with this outfit allows the colors to pop (and this particular bag would look fabulous carried as a large clutch.) Adding some simple yet interesting jewelry polishes off the look, and a pair of black pumps give it a sophisticated edge. Fabulous!
